Use code SUBSTACK10 for 10% off, valid through Friday, so don’t wait!
Now, back to our regularly scheduled newsletter.
This week, Karine Jean Pierre reaffirmed that President Biden has no intention of visiting the border, one of the primary ways that fentanyl is pouring into our country. Contributor Blake Mauro explains that “Fentanyl Pouring Across Our Borders is an Act of Terror,” arguing in her piece that we need to take more action to cut back on the flow of poison over our border.
If you’re looking for a last minute Christmas gift for a young conservative (besides our awesome merch), a book is never a bad call. Just this week, contributor Scott Howard published his review of A Time To Build by Yuval Levin. “The demolition crews have for too long been allowed to define the spirit of this era in America,” writes Levin. “But where we’re headed will be up to the builders and rebuilders. And that is what we each should seek to be.” Read Scott’s review of the book right here.
New York Republicans had an impressively successful midterm election night, especially on Long Island, where the GOP swept all four of the region’s competitive US House districts. Our newest contributor, Brett Patrick explains how Republicans on Long Island have taken a conservative approach to solving the Island’s environmental issues. Patrick argues, by “shifting the conversation toward targeted climate solutions instead of alarmism” the GOP can provide common sense solutions to conserve the natural environment.
Thanks everyone for reading, and for your continued support of young conservatives. If you enjoy what we do, please consider supporting us with a year-end gift at the link below. We appreciate you all.
Best,
The Lone Conservative Team
